Fitness challenge - 19-04-2010
Over the coming term the Cubs will be working towards their fitness challenge badge. To complete the challenge they will need to complete three tasks;
-
show how they have done their best in a sport or activity over a two week period
-
show how they have improved their physical fitness over a two week period including looking at diet, exercise & sleep patterns
-
try two new sports or activities
As a result the Cubs will be participating in a healthy eating evening on the 27th April where we will discuss the importance of a healthy diet & the Cubs will get the chance to try different fruits. At the end of the night they will take home a food diary to record their eating habits & sleep patterns over the following fortnight.
On the 4th May we have a challenge night where the Cubs will get the chance to try aerobics and other challenges across the evening.
To complete the challenge the Cubs will be trying their hands at athletics on the 25th May; they will attempt 6 activities and gain a score for each. If they earn more than 8 points they will gain their athletes badge. After half term they will get the chance to attempt all 6 activities again and try to improve their score.
